Honey Bee RC helicopters are a line of electric powered radio controlled helicopters that include several different models. There are some perfect for the beginning hobbyist and others that are more suited to a more advanced level. In fact, they are making a name for themselves as a beginner’s helicopter. The line makes use of micro electronic technology and batteries that make them lightweight and affordable.
Being affordable makes them appealing for the beginner but the wide range of models give everyone something to choose from. Three that are offered are the Honey Bee v2, CP3 and the King 3.
Basically when you are choosing a helicopter you need to keep in mind that the more maneuverable it is the harder it is to fly. If you choose a Honey Bee RC helicopter with a fixed pitch you are less likely to overcorrect when flying and the initial set up will be easier.
It is really tempting as a beginner to go with a more advanced model but try to resist the temptation. A more advanced model is likely to increase your frustration as you attempt to learn how to fly it and the subsequent chances of crashing it.
If you are more advanced you should start thinking about trying a collective pitch Honey Bee RC helicopter. A collective pitch helicopter gives you more options for movement because the motor control and blade pitch work together giving a much more sensitive response.
The collective pitch will allow you to try fancier moves and help you advance your skills to the next level. As with the fixed pitch models a Honey Bee collective pitch model should come “ready to fly”. This basically eliminates a lot of the set up required with the gas powered models, once again helping to increase your chance for success.
When you begin to look into purchasing a Honey Bee RC helicopter you may be overwhelmed with the different options. Keep in mind that all models work well, particularly for the beginner and that you always have the option to work your way through the simpler models to the more complicated ones. Honey Bee helicopters also off the chance to upgrade some of their components.
This is a hobby that is meant to be fun and part of that is in upgrading and “tricking out” your helicopter. Have fun, take it slow and you will enjoy it for many years to come!
