wcharly By Request, I show how to use the control sticks to fly a helicopter on Aerofly pro deluxe from ( www.hobby-lobby.com ) You would never jump in a real heli, and say, “Hey, I’ll just figure it out!” Flying an RC model HELI is about the same as trying to balance a BALL BEARING in SPACE! You move it slightly, and you have to do EVERYTHING YOU CAN (moving all 7 CONTROLS AT ONCE) just to get it stopped, let alone trying to GET IT BACK to you! Then, if the nose is pointing at you, 4 of those controls are REVERSED! This is all hard learned with RC HELI Pilots and why there are so few of us around. Its NERVE-WRACKING for most and why only 4% of the people, actually advance to simply HOVER, let alone move on to 3D (stunts). CRASHING has to also be accepted as a very important part of the learning curve. So learn on a VW, and if you never crash it, then get the Porsche! Great vid I was just wondering if real flight simulator is better than the one in the vid?

any recommendations for a good rc? I’m looking for something somewhat cheap that would be decent for a future heli.
try lama v4, co-axial, easy to fly,sheap, it’s allmoast hanging by itself, and then u can move to a collective pitch one, with tail rotor
I’ve been looking at the lama. also the falcon 40 or honeybee. Although i doubt im already ready for even a fixed pitch. Thanks for the input!
don’t worry from a co-axial, its very hard to break, the biggest cras what i had was from 10m, and i hit the wall first, still, only the blades broke, sims can teach u basics, but reality is a “bit” different
and its around 100$ max
Ok I need help. I’m really satisfied with the quality of my copter, because after just about 5 seconds of using the throttle, my helicopter was about 12 metres in the air! No exaggeration. So, once it was there, it kinda didn’t end well. It crashed. Don’t worry it still works
So guys, if my helicopter is 12 metres in the air, how do I get it to land safely

@ Maluz – I wish it were that simple. Nothing will happen if you center the sticks. Every action whether done by you or naturally has to be compensated for. So when a certain something hits the fan, you better hope you’re skilled enough to get out of it, or be prepared to face the pain of a repair bill. Learning to fly is an art of time, patience and pain. You will crash, it’s inevitable. But each one is invaluable, regardless of damage.
Excellent video, but thissimulator is expensive. I spend the same money on a real heli and I am learning by making mistakes.

Since your so knowlegable in this hobby maybe you can answer this question. I have a DX6i and want a cheap flight sim. What kind of cable do I need? A link would be great! I downloaded rchelisim and tried using a cable with a headphone jack on both ends after I read on a forum that it would work. It odviously didn’t work unless there’s a trick to setting it up. I’m guessing I need something with a headphone jack on one end and a usb on the other?
@SnwBrdFrvr if you want a great simulater get the phoenix best sim out right know and is compatible with your dx6i or you can buy it with the radio it comes with a spektrum dx5e for about 170 bucks.
@megamindstorm101 phoenix is the best sim visit or check it out on you tube phoenix simulator dont waste your money on realflight phoenix blows it away.
I would get aerofly but I cant find it!
How good does the computer have to be to use pheonix? I just have laptops and the newest one is still 2 years old at least and they’re nowhere near gaming machines. HP DV2315nr with an extra gig of ram (2 gigs total).
I’ve got Esky Belt CP V2…..I’m new at this flying business…..Is this the best way to practice as a total beginner….if yes then can you tell me what flight simulator you are using on the video above? Cheers….

get a sim with remote cuz you still have to still use the controller baterie on the dx6i but not on a usb transmitter
