If you sign up for their xhelicopter newsletter, you will get discount coupons. www.anrdoezrs.net Forward Flight (Wind-Test) of the E-Sky Honey Bee electric helicopter with CCPM rotor head and throttle hold. These are the first forward flights. I am quite impressed with this little helicopter with Electric tail rotor motor. Considering the price (9.00 plus shipping with radio and ready to fly) this was a deal from EBay. It came with an extra stock LiPo Battery, extra main and tail rotor blades, and a wall charger too. I do not recommend this for beginning helicopter pilots, but if you have some experience with a cyclic collective pitch rotor head, you will really enjoy it.

When Alan from Canada sent me this Antique Honey Bee electric, I was anxious to play with it. Then, all the old frustrations came back, as I tried and tried to get it to fly. We are pretty spoiled with all the LiPos, Brushless Motors, Gyros, Spread Spectrum radios, and the light composites we have for today’s helicopters. Remember, back only 35 years ago, this was real progress. Many things went wrong. Stripped gears, both tail and main. Such small Allen screws, that I could not find an Allen wrench to fit them. Parts kept flying off. There were no gyros in those days either and 2 minutes was tops on the battery. In the last minute, the battery gets low and slow, so trying to make adjustments was futile. It took a long time to charge the battery, just to try again. Of course once it flew, you sensed a deep satisfaction of accomplishment. But remember, these helicopters were new 35 years ago and most skeptics said we would never have electric helicopters. I am glad we never gave up, for today’s helicopters are truly electronic works of art. Thanks for watching, Dave

By Request, I show how to use the control sticks to fly a helicopter on Aerofly pro deluxe from ( www.hobby-lobby.com ) You would never jump in a real heli, and say, “Hey, I’ll just figure it out!” Flying an RC model HELI is about the same as trying to balance a BALL BEARING in SPACE! You move it slightly, and you have to do EVERYTHING YOU CAN (moving all 7 CONTROLS AT ONCE) just to get it stopped, let alone trying to GET IT BACK to you! Then, if the nose is pointing at you, 4 of those controls are REVERSED! This is all hard learned with RC HELI Pilots and why there are so few of us around. Its NERVE-WRACKING for most and why only 4% of the people, actually advance to simply HOVER, let alone move on to 3D (stunts). CRASHING has to also be accepted as a very important part of the learning curve. So learn on a VW, and if you never crash it, then get the Porsche! Request my 9 Heli Flying Tips and Rules of Thumb for more insight and please SUBSCRIBE and stay tuned as I do some exciting product reviews from my new sponsors, http and www.nitroplanes.com Good luck, Dave
